ILS / ISS Manager currently acting as Field Services Representative for TORNADO (d/f/m)
You are not scared by legacy aircrafts and you’re keen to support the customer directly on site to ensure the readiness of the TORNADO weapon system until the very last day?
A vacancy is offered in the System Support Center Combat Aircraft (TASSC), located in Manching, which provides technical and logistic support for various flying weapon systems. Part of this organization, the “Operations and Projects” (TASSC5) department is responsible for the project management of the Integrated Life Cycle Support (ILS) and In-Service Support (ISS) activities for programmes such as EUROFIGHTER, TORNADO, AWACS, EURODRONE and FCAS.
As an ILS / ISS Manager acting as Field Services Representative for TORNADO, you’ll support a dedicated department of the customer’s Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) in Koblenz during its daily work, mainly in the area of product monitoring.

Your tasks and responsibilities
The Field Services Representative (FSR) for TORNADO acts as an interface between the customer organisation and industry, providing the customer with necessary industry support and information while directly supporting the day to day business in the broader field of product monitoring.
In the current setup, the FSR stays one week per month in Koblenz while supporting remotely the other days. This setup is open for adaptions as long as a dedicated time has to be spent in Manching as well as in Koblenz (at least one week per month in Koblenz or in Manching).
You will functionally report to the head of the customer organization’s department.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Support product monitoring activities on a daily basis based on concrete customer requests and needs. This activities involve the following subtasks (but it’s not limited to):
- Analyses of industry recommendations derived from the product monitoring reports including the definition of appropriate measures that need to be aligned with the customer stakeholders
- Setup and maintenance of monitor & control measures to improve the assessment of industry recommendations as well as the execution of derived actions
- Analyse and prepare data sets for and from dedicated tasks such as extended inventory analyses, In-Service-Data analyses reports and orders.
- Assure the communication and information exchange between industry and customer organisation to secure on time, on cost and on quality delivery of dedicated ISS services
- Continuous improvement of the Industry service provision taking into account the customer specific needs
- Participation to & preparation of internal and external meetings
Desired skills and qualifications
- Academic degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access (expert level)
- Profound knowledge of ILS / ISS processes, products and services including knowledge of Support System elements and associated (customer) standards
- Profound knowledge of SAP, experience with the Bundeswehr SASPF system is a plus
- Experience in program and/or project management is a plus
- Profound knowledge of the TORNADO weapon system is a plus
- Open minded, multi-tasking and positive attitude combined with the ability to react fast in a permanent evolving environment
- Team player combined with a networking attitude and a customer and goal orientated way of working
- Fluent in English and German (negotiation level)
